Chapter 92 C'mon?

Verse 1

Last Saturday a bunch of us was out for beer and some meat celebrating a friend's birthday and afterwards me and one other guy went to Medusa. Medusa is a place that usually plays music we like and the beer is fairly priced.

As we were sitting there a girl came up to me and asked if i wasn't a photographer. She thought she recognised me and exlained she was a model.
I am all for equality but it feels a bit back to front thinking about it.
Usually it's the guy that goes up to the girl pretending to be a photographer telling her she could be a model and i can't remember having experienced this type of approach before.

Anyways, the girl was cute enough to model in a manga-anime kind of a way and i believe my friend would agree.
Better bring a camera next time T.

Chapter 91 I wasn't there

Verse 1

Yesterday the plan was to go out to dinner with some friends to celebrate a birthday..or so i thought until the birthday-man rang me around seven on Friday evening asking if i was coming.
I had totally gotten the day wrong so it was up up and away into town for some beer and meat.

My confusion on what day it was meant i was at home Saturday when my Gf had her friends over for dinner. As a man i was in reality Persona Non Grata but i got a welcome dispensation and stayed in the server-room playing Fallout 3 the entire evening.
As i understand it they had a good time as did i even though the game crashed on me.

Chapter 90 I am sorry!

Verse 1

Forgive me, i humbly beg all of you. I am in part to blame for the sad performance of the sun these last few days.
We put up a jalousie in the server-room this Monday and lo and behold, now we don't need it anymore!
Believing as i do in the jinxing of events and not calling the Gods attention to you am of course certain of the connection between the jalousie and the less than excellent weather this week.

I will give proper thanks once the sun is back again.

Chapter 89 Quote

Verse 1

"Everything you've ever done, you've only ever done for yourself"

This is a phrase that i liked from the moment i first heard it, it is of course Tilda Swinton as Gabriel in the movie Constantine.
I just love the sentence and how it is delivered adds so much to the beauty of it.

For those of you that haven't seen the movie should do it just for that one scene and in my opinion the character John Constantine is very well portrayed by Keanu Reeves and worth the watch.
Constantine is also most definitely a person i can relate to, his cynicism and general disregard for convention is refreshing and with his background totally understandable.
He is a good guy without the shining armour and good manners but also lacking the smug "do goodiness" common in heroes. Anti-hero ftw!

Chapter 88 *Glugg glugg*

Verse 1

Yesterday we premiered on "Medis" sun sun sun and a few beers that went down nicely. We then rounded it off with food at Tiffany's that serve a very good steak.
All in all a very nice Saturday and a feeling that was almost vacation-like!

Chapter 87 Forecast

Verse 1

It actually looks like the weather forecast for the weekend is holding. They said that Thursday would be kinda' bad and it was, also that Friday would be nice and it is shaping up to be just that.

Unfortunately this is true for other things as well. There was plans to do some RPG:ing this Easter which hasn't happened for a long time. As always i had some doubts as something always seems to come up to spoil it and this is of course true this time too.
People are either sick or busy with other things so no gaming to be had. Crap all!

I will hope for sunny weather and a beer somewhere instead.

Chapter 86 Like Friday

Verse 1

A very nice and relaxed day at work today, you could tell that everybody was looking forward to Easter and some time off.
There will be dinner with Nina's parents, at their place as they adamantly wanted to cook. I don't mind if they insist.
I might also get the opportunity to zombiefy some colleagues later in the week playing Left for Dead, looking forward to that and more on it later.

Chapter 85 How about that age thing?

Verse 1

I have set a few milestones for myself as to when i will consider myself "old" in the mental sense as opposed to the physical where it is too late.

1: When i watch Bingolotto or any similar gameshow, forbid that i also would actively take part.
2: When i don't laugh out loud at cartoons or animated shows like South Park, Madagascar of Family Guy.
3: When i don't have too many computers or see it as perfectly normal to have a room called "The server-room" at home.
4: When i stop buying things like an anvil or a scalpel just "because"
5: When i sell my mail-shirt and all my old RPG things.
6: When i finally have my own first crisis about reaching a certain age.

Happy birthday Jempa!

Chapter 84 Just one thing

Verse 1

Today i can really only write one thing and that is..two more days of work this week and then five days off!
We are not spoiled in this department otherwise so this feels very nice and hopefully there will be an opportunity to have this year's first beer outside in the sun this week as well.

Chapter 83 What do you mean "foul" ?

Verse 1

Back from playing some football on the X-box at Emil's place with Mike, Cesar and Mattias.
As i wrote in my warning we lost every game that i was in but i am proud of the match that me and Mattias forced into overtime and penalties with only nine players on the field.
Clearly Emil need to remove the "Penalize the other team patch" but except from that it was fun.

Chapter 82 O Glory be!

Verse 1

What a wonderful day, sun, warmth and people to be annoyed by at IKEA!
It was warm enough to eat breakfast on the balcony (although we didn't) and as we went to IKEA the sun kept the temperature up so no jacket was needed.
Talking about temperature, the thermometer we had out in the sun on the balcony showed 42 degrees centigrade and the one we brought out for comparison showed 35! Something was obviously wrong but who cares.

Every one who has ever been to IKEA recognize the fact that something happens to people there.
What is considered unacceptable behaviour elsewhere is somehow alright there and i believe some studies should be conducted.

You can see the same signs at any supermarket or crowded place like an amusement-park but IKEA is special for some reason. At no other place can you witness more quarrels, arguments and idiocy. I must also seriously question the rational thinking-capacity of those that voluntarily bring children there ever, especially on or just after pay-day.
I am sorry friends with children but you must agree on that one.

At least i can always get some small comfort from what might be called petty revenge like driving on to some stupid guys foot with my cart or suddenly stop on the stairs. Childish you might think but if people can't behave sensibly on their own i believe that it is my duty to help and let them experience the world as they make it.

Chapter 81 Thank you Emil

Chapter 1

I got some good advice from Emil today as i was thinking on what to eat for dinner. My plan was to make my own hamburgers and Emil told me of a good spicemix to use, so thank you for that. It tasted great.
For all of you who sometimes make your own burgers, get one of these hamburgerpresses if you can. I am sure they make it taste so much better and they are somehow both geeky and cool.

Chapter 80 Here's to hoping

Verse 1

Friday again and Gods willing we will enjoy some nice weather this weekend. It is really nice to not be forced to bundle up like Bibendum every time one ventures outside.
No real plans for the weekend, nothing set in stone anyways, perhaps we will buy some flowers and plant on the balcony and i might hook up with a couple of guys from work and play some Fifa. I consider them hereby duly warned that if we play as teams that my team will most likely lose.
In case the invitation is withdrawn now i will just say thanks anyway in advance and that i understand.

Chapter 79 Do i want a King?

Verse 1

This is not a comment on any wedding or the pros and cons of monarchy versus republic.
Or possibly it is just that in some way.
As i was watching Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas i realized that there is one member of royalty i can support.
I am of course talking about Jack Skellington, better known as Jack The Pumpkin King.
Charismatic, resourceful and ambitious! Like all great leaders he is sometimes carried away by something new and exciting but his heart is always in the right place.
Exactly as sometimes happen in real life the royal person end up with one of the people but the difference here is that i like both Jack and Sally and think that they deserve all the happiness they can find.

Chapter 78 Hot diggity!

Verse 1

Today gave a real taste of Spring for sure. Sunny and quite warm even after 6 o'clock and if we had found seating we would most likely had a pint today.
The few places that had opened up outside was all full but it was nice to get that definitive sign that winter is over.

Verse 2

Things are also moving on at work with the hiring of a new manager for my team. Two candidates and we are hoping for the best. It will be exciting to see how the new person fits in at work and with the team.

Verse 3

Today i also got to thinking how people react around children. The almost universal and instant feeling of positivity and connection that a disparate group of humans can join in around a child is astonishing.
Observing it is very interesting and i cannot help but to get a touch of the feel-good vibes myself.
Given my reputation for bitterness and cynicism it might be hard to believe but there it is. In my defence i can say that the child in question is not without charm and with a distinct and cool personality. Well done Jempa!
