Chapter 196 What groups do you support?

Now it has happened again. A group on Facebook that originally promised to give money to heart-research for each member changed name and purpose when it had gotten 80000 members.
It went from charity to wanting to remove women's right to vote.

This was reported here and the founder claims the purpose was to provoke as well as increase awareness and encourage Facebook-members to question more.
I will not speculate as to if this is true or not but i am not a member of any groups on Facebook and it is not likely i will become one unless i am confident that the founder or organisation behind it can be trusted.

One question i have among others concerning what happened is this:
How is it possible to so completely change the purpose of a group without alerting the members. Shouldn't they be automatically notified by Facebook that changes has been made?

It seems to me that it would be an easy fix.
